Nick Gordon honours late girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown at the beach
After being banned from attending his late girlfriend's funeral, Nick Gordon found his own special way to honour Bobbi Kristina Brown.
The couple, who referred to themselves as husband and wife on social
media, had dated for several years and even announced their engagement
in 2012.
Because of Nick's strained relationship with his girlfriend's family, he was barred from the funeral that took place last week.
Instead the 25-year-old chose to pay his respects to Bobbi Kristina – Whitney Houston's 22-year-old daughter – at the beach.
Nick went to beach with me on Friday during the services," Michele Gordon told People of their excursion to Daytona Beach, Florida. "He said the beach was always their favourite place to go so he decided that he would honour her at a place that they both loved."
Nick was not welcome at the funeral as he is currently facing a
£25million civil lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina's conservators. They
claimed that Nick manipulated the late singer and transferred "a large
portion" of her funds into his own account.
Prior to the funeral Nick had emailed his girlfriend's father Bobby
Brown and aunt Pat Houston, begging to be allowed to attend the funeral.
"I loved Krissi with all my heart and I am destroyed that she is gone and I need to say goodbye," he wrote. "I'm begging you both to please put your differences aside and allow me this chance. Krissi loved me very much and she would want me there. Please consider this?"
Nick had a difficult relationship with his girlfriend's family, and
it was Bobby who said via a lawyer that his heiress daughter "is not and
never has been married to Nick Gordon".
Nick, who was banned from visiting Bobbi Kristina in hospital when she was in a coma, found his girlfriend unresponsive in her bathtub at home in January.
The late TV star passed away on 26 July and her funeral was held last weekend in Georgia. Two days later she was buried next to her mother Whitney in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey
